Peru is reaching its bicentennial in a scenario of unprecedented economic and social crisis. Today, more than ever, we Peruvians need to join our efforts towards resuming our path to development and prosperity and, to that end, we need to make responsible use of the mineral resources that nature has given us.

There is no doubt that mining, with its exports, taxes and royalties, is a key instrument in the generation of resources that our country needs to face this emergency situation. In addition, it is a means to stimulate territorial development in our regions, generating infrastructure, connectivity, trade, employment and other aspects that contribute to the well-being of our high Andean populations.

In the face of this challenge, our activities program ‘Rumbo a PERUMIN’ – bicentennial edition “Generating prosperity for all Peruvians”, offers meeting points so that all players involved in the country’s development – authorities, companies, civil society and the academy – can get together and analyze the current challenges in mining towards generating synergies for its development.

The converging objective must be to seek prosperity rather than just economic growth. ‘Rumbo a PERUMIN’ is the threshold to PERUMIN 35, the most important mining convention in Peru and one of the most relevant globally.
