The Organizing Committee of PERUMIN 35 confirmed the postponement of the deadline to submit the technical work summaries for the Technology, Innovation and Sustainability Forum, an event that will take place next September, from the 27th to the 29th, at the Cerro Juli Convention Center, in Arequipa.

In this respect, the President of the TIS Forum, Eng. Roberto Maldonado, pointed out that the deadline to submit the summaries will be extended from March 31, as originally programmed, to April 15, to give applicants more time to prepare their technical work summaries.

“Interested parties may share their summaries sending them to the email address: tecnologia@iimp.org.pe. The summaries may have a maximum of three pages including also the title of the work, the category they are applying to, and other details as found in the contest conditions”, he explained.

Furthermore, he indicated that the list of the selected summaries would be informed later. The authors will then receive the respective guidelines to present their technical work in full in the next stage. There will be a new round, where the winner of each category will be chosen.

Thus, the eight winners will be introduced in the TIS Forum, where they will present their research work in detail and may dispute the National Mining Award, the maximum recognition that the national mining industry offers to the promotion of research and knowledge on mining.

“The invitation is open to all Peruvian and foreign professionals who are related to the different phases of mining activity and who have the conviction they will contribute with their knowledge and experience to the permanent improvement of our industry in a situation of constant changes”, he stated.

Eight categories

He also indicated that the participants may compete in any of the eight categories in the contest: Research and Technology, Mining Operations, Mineral Processing and Metallurgical Industries, Geology and Explorations, Social Management, Environmental Management, Mining Economics, and Legal and Tax.

“During the Technology, Innovation and Sustainability Forum, there will also be keynote talks and round tables with the participation of experts, local and international, for the analysis and debate of highly-relevant matters, such as technological developments, legal framework, resources management, market perspectives, etc.”, added its President, Eng. Roberto Maldonado.
