Ross Carroll, (Chief Financial Officer) of MMG Limited, the company that owns Las Bambas, will participate as a main speaker in Heading to PERUMIN - Bicentennial Edition, a space for open and decentralized debate organized by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) , which will take place online from September 20 to 24.
The senior executive will be part of the " Consensus for sustainable development" scheduled for September 21, which will broaden the outlook on this issue, previously addressed by other prominent representatives of the public and private sectors, academia and international organizations.
Las Bambas is one of the largest mining operations in Peruvian history. It is located in the Apurímac region, more than 4,400 meters above sea level. It has three main deposits: Ferrobamba, Chalcobamba and Sulfobamba. Its development will consolidate Peru as the second largest copper producer in the world.
About Heading to PERUMIN
Heading to PERUMIN is an initiative of the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) and the Executive Committee of PERUMIN 35. It is the prelude to the 35th edition of the traditional Mining Convention, which will take place in 2022.
The event includes presentations and discussion panels on the issues that set the national agenda, such as long-term mining policy, taxation, development of new mining projects and their impact on the regions, sustainability and the value chain in mining, among others.
