The board of directors of the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers announced that active members and life members who are 65 years old or older will have free access to PERUMIN, the most important mining convention in Latin America, taking place at Cerro Juli Convention Center, in Arequipa, from September 26 to 30.

A world-class event

With its slogan “Building together a greater Peru,” the 35th edition of PERUMIN will be held face to face. Representatives of the three government levels, entrepreneurs, consulting bodies, civil society, academia, and communities have confirmed they will attend the event.

This way, the Mining Convention will become this great meeting point for the national and international mining community to come together, analyze and discuss keys issues concerning the mining industry as well as the pending challenges to consolidate the social and economic progress of Peru and its regions.

It is important to highlight that PERUMIN will be a zero-carbon footprint event with simultaneous interpretation of lectures, the exhibition of a virtual mine, and a public agenda that includes matters relating the current mining situation, such as the challenges in terms of gender and diversity, and the importance of renewable energies.

Additionally, for this edition, a set of strategic actions have been taken to guarantee the health and safety of event goers. These include giving a COVID test to people with symptoms, demanding to show one’s vaccination card with all required doses, calculating the event’s maximum capacity to allow adequate social distance, taking ventilation measures, and disinfecting.
