Lima, JUNE 1 2022 PERUMIN Inspira: Entrepreneurs will be able to submit their projects for social impact in high andean regions until June 5

  • PERUMIN Inspira, a program sponsored by the mining industry, will allow social entrepreneurs to present their projects at PERUMIN 35th Mining Convention

PERUMIN Inspira is the most important award given by the mining industry to social startups that contribute to the sustainable development of communities located in high Andean regions. The deadline to submit innovative project proposals is Sunday, June 5. The projects selected will be presented at PERUMIN 35th Mining Convention, to take place in Arequipa from September 26 to 30.

This award seeks to recognize innovative social startups that are working towards six of the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations: end of poverty; zero hunger; good health and well-being; clean water and sanitation; decent work and economic growth, and climate action.

PERUMIN Inspira is sponsored by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) in alliance with the International Potato Center (CIP) – One CGIAR, and managed by Kunan, a Peruvian platform for strengthening the ecosystem of social and environmental entrepreneurship in Peru.

“Finalist projects will have the great chance to present their ideas or startups at PERUMIN 35. The mining industry will definitely give them the push they need to reach their goals. In addition, the winner will receive not only technical and legal accompaniment to consolidate and patent their project, but also a financial incentive,” said Jimena Sologuren, president of PERUMIN Inspira.

In its 2022 edition, entrepreneurs will be able to apply to the category “High Impact Startups,” which will recognize a startup that has been actively working and carrying out activities involving their target group for at least 6 months before their application.

Applicants could win the special CIP - One CGIAR recognition, which is granted to those who have a startup in the highlands of Peru, at 2,000 m.a.s.l. or more, working with agricultural and livestock products or services towards one of the following SDGs: end of poverty, zero hunger, or climate action.
