Lima, MAY 20 2022 PERUMIN 35: Over 230 technical research works move on to the next round of the TIS Forum

The committee organizing the Technology, Innovation, and Sustainability Forum or TIS Forum—an event that is part of the main activities of PERUMIN 35th Mining Convention—has pre-selected 232 abstracts of technical research works to move on to the next stage.

“516 abstracts of technical research works were submitted during the application stage, which ended on April 15. Then they were reviewed, and 232 abstracts were selected to move on to the next stage of the contest,” highlighted TIS Forum’s president, Roberto Maldonado.

In the category of Mining Operations, 60 abstracts of technical research works were pre-selected; in Research and Technology, 51; in Minerals Processing and Extractive Metallurgy, 33; in Environmental Management, 29; in Social Management, 23; in Geology and Exploration, 18; in Legal and Tax, 11; and in Mining Economy, 7.

According to the TIS Forum’s schedule, from May 25 to 28, workshops will be organized to strengthen the researchers’ soft skills and give them guidelines to prepare the final version of their technical research paper, which is to be submitted to the corresponding evaluation committee according to each category on June 30.

“After a comprehensive analysis, the list of the technical research works selected for each category will be presented at PERUMIN 35,” said Roberto Maldonado.

The winning technical research works in each category will be presented by their authors at TIS Forum’s four rooms with simultaneous agendas at PERUMIN 35. Only one of them will win the National Mining Award, the most prestigious award offered by the mining industry to the professional community.

“As part of the TIS Forum, there will be keynote lectures and round tables about operational, economic, legal, tax, environmental, and water management issues, among other matters that are of paramount importance to the mining sector,” pointed out its president.
